Jay (1) untersuchte die Polyphenole hydrolysierter Blattextrakte von Vertretern von fünf Gattungen; er beobachtete: bei Raspalia microphylla PCy, PD, IRh, Lu und X; bei Nebelia paleacea PCy, Q, Chrysoeriol, MeQ und X; bei Pseudobaeckea africana PCy, PD, Q und IRh; bei Staavia radiata PCy, PD, Q, IRh, MeQ und X; bei Brunia neglecta PCy, PD, Q, IRh und MeQ; bei Berzelia lanuginosa PCy, PD, Q, MeQ und X. Kaempferol und Ellagsäure wurden nicht, und Myricetin nur spurenweise beobachtet.
