Zusammenfassung
Nach Boesewinkel gehören Averrhoa, Dapania und Sarcotheca sicher zu den Oxalidaceae; es handelt sich um eine tropische Familie von Holzpflanzen, die zwei Gattungen von krautigen Pflanzen, Oxalis und Biophytum, fortbrachte, und mit ihnen die gemäßigte Zone erreichte. Die Samen von Averrhoa bilimbi und carambola und von Dapania grandifolia und Sarcotheca laxa sind stärkefrei und enthalten im Endosperm und Embryo reichlich fettes Öl (1). Oxalis tuberosa („Oca“) liefert stärkereiche Sproßknollen; die Art wird in den Anden in vielen Cultivars kultiviert (2).
