Abstract

The formal similarity between certain theorems in operator theory and measure theory, e.g. between the Banach-Steinhaus and Vitali-Hahn-Saks theorems, is well-known. This paper outlines a demonstration that such formally similar results in the two subjects are in fact corollaries, if not special cases, of the same general theorems.
