Part of the book series: Molecular and Cell Biology Updates ((MCBU))

Abstract

Spin trapping is defined as that chemical reaction in which a radical adds to a molecule so that the group that was the radical (radical addend) stays with the molecule for future analysis. The molecule which captures the radical is called the spin trap. The addition product is called the spin adduct.
