Summary

In this short contribution we demonstrate the feasibility of a simple technique to prepare an ultrathin film with enzymes entrapped that may be suitable for sensor applications. The films are impenetrable to macromolecules having a size of some nanometers but penetrable to small molecules. Quantitative data on diffusion coefficients and potential profile within these films are derived via optical probe techniques.
