Abstract

Nedocromil sodium is a new, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for treating asthma. It both differs from and resembles the earlier representative of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, namely cromolyn sodium. Chemically, nedocromil sodium is the disodium salt of a pyranoquinoline-dicarboxylic acid, and cromolyn sodium is a bis-chromone.
