Zum Tragsystem eines Gebäudes gehören Außenwände, Innenwände, Stützen, Decken und Fundationen. Allgemein behandelt werden die Decken und die Tragwände. Wichtig ist dabei, wie die Vertikallasten und die Horizontallasten auf die Wände verteilt werden. Die Deformationen der Decken zwingen den Wänden Verdrehungen auf und beeinflussen dadurch maßgebend ihr Tragverhalten.
