Abstract

Studies on the influence of Helicobacter pylori gastritis on gastric motility have produced inconclusive results. We examined the effect of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy on gastric emptying in patients with functional dyspepsia. A standardized scintigraphic double-tracer examination was used. There was no difference in gastric emptying among H.pylori eradicated and H.pylori positive patients after one year follow-up. However, the reproducibility of the scintigraphic study was good.
