Abstract
The microinjection technique provides an alternative to molecular genetics to study the role of specific proteins that are involved in signal transduction. In this study, we microinjected macromolecular inhibitors of the inositol trisphosphate (InsP3) receptor to examine its role in the mobilization of intracellular calcium (Ca2+ i) and extracellular Ca2+ entry following activation of the plateletderived growth factor (PDGF) receptor.
