Abstract
In this chapter we present two local principles and some of their applications to the theory of singular integral equations. The theoretic foundation of these principles is contained in Sections 5.1 and 5.4. In Section 5.1 there are moreover given applications to singular operators, in Section 5.2 to the theory of multipliers in the (two-sided) space lp, in 5.3 to paired equations with continuous coefficients, and in 5.4 to the problem of computing the quotient norm of singular integral operators.
