Abstract
Fillers and pigments for paints are extremely valuable products derived from calcium carbonate, but there are also many other areas where this mineral enjoys immense economic importance. Nowadays, crushed stones, sand, granules, grains and fine flour from limestone have all become indispensable raw materials. In fact there is hardly an industry that does not depend to a greater or lesser extent on calcium carbonate.
