Abstract
Over the last 12 years, Pure and Applied Geophysics has published six volumes on studies related to Induced Seismicity, raising its profile considerably. The journal’s international level of peer-review played a significant role in establishing a high level of scientific credibility to the topic. Additionally, the relatively large amount of contributions published in these special volumes has increased the awareness to the diversity of problems that are not only of interest to the theoretical and applied seismology, but also to the rock and soil mechanics, mining, geotechnical, petroleum, and geothermal engineering.
