Abstract
Since the late 1970s of last century, a large interest in geometry of fractals can be observed. Fractals can be defined in different ways with the use of various notions of dimensions, usually as sets or spaces with non-integer dimension. The most classical notion of dimension is due to Hausdorff [Hau], see [Ed] and [Fa] for a modern exposition. Here, we calculate or estimate the Hausdorff dimension of several fractal-like sets which appear, for instance, as limit sets of group actions (Section 5.5) or exceptional minimal sets on foliated manifolds.
