Abstract

In this last chapter we present a few applications of the theory of hyponormal operators to other areas of mathematical analysis. To be more specific we are dealing with the following problems:

  • the parametrization of commutative pairs of unbounded self-adjoint operators which do not strongly commute,

  • some asymptotic expansions of Toeplitz determinants, and

  • a moment problem in two dimensions.
