Effects of Nicotine on Thromboxane and Leukotriene Synthesis in Cellular Systems

Summary

In coculture systems of human macrophage-like cells and human endothelial cells low concentrations of nicotine inhibit thromboxane as well as prostacyclin synthesis and induce a major increase of cell contact-dependent transcellular leukotriene synthesis.
