Summary

A simple and non-invasive procedure was recently reported to estimate global and regional cerebral perfusion using the evaluation of the early angiographic phase after bolus injection of Tc-99m-H1VPAO. This method derives a so called “brain perfusion index“ (BPI). Using this method, brain indices were determined in our study for 36 patients suffering from various cerebral perfusion disorders. Our initial data demonstrate the possibility of improving the quantification of brain perfusion especially after enhancement by acetazolamide.
