Cadmium in fresh and estuarine waters

Cadmium in the Environment

Part of the book series: Experientia Supplementum ((EXS,volume 50))

Abstract

Although the volume of fresh and estuarine waters is small with respect to the water-mass in the oceans, these waters have their particular importance as our freshwater supply, and estuaries are important biological areas in themselves. In addition, the estuaries are the interface between the continents and the oceans. Processes in estuaries affect the total amount of cadmium entering the oceans.
