Further developments in research on the chemistry and pharmacology of synthetic quinuclidine derivatives

Abstract

In 1969, we published a review article ‘Relationship Between the Chemical Structure and Pharmacological Activity in a Series of Synthetic Quinuclidine Derivatives’ [1]. Since then we have studied in more detail the chemical characteristics of quinuclidine and synthesized more quinuclidine derivatives. We have obtained further insights into structure-activity relationships in this series and discovered a new group of antihistaminic agents which are substituted quinuclidylcarbinols. Also, we have published a number of studies dealing with methods of synthesis, chemical properties and pharmacological activities of the new quinuclidine derivatives.
