Quaternary ammonium salts — advances in chemistry and pharmacology since 1960

Chapter
Part of the Progress in Drug Research / Fortschritte der Arzneimittelforschung / Progrès des recherches pharmaceutiques book series (PDR, volume 24)

Abstract

Twenty years ago there appeared in this review series a chapter entitled, ‘Chemical Nature and Pharmacological Actions of Quaternary Ammonium Salts’ [1]. The present treatment examines some of the information and interpretations subsequently published and available to the reviewer by late 1979. To avoid redundancy, references to material in the earlier review and to literature published prior to 1960 will be made only where essential for continuity.
