Abstract
Hookworm infection ranks high as a cause of debilitating disease, especially in the warm tropical and sub-tropical regions. It has been estimated that a fifth of the world population carry hookworms [1] and there is no evidence that this ratio is decreasing. With the estimated world population of three thousand million (UNO – 1962), over six hundred million people have infection with Ancylostoma duodenale or Necator americanus, or both. So great is the morbidity from these helminths in man, that it becomes increasingly important that newer and better drugs be discovered to fight this problem.
