Abstract

Food-poisoning is a prehistoric malady and innumerable out-breaks occur even in modern times, but the causative organisms often elude microbiologists. Much attention has been focussed recently on V. parahaemolyticus since reports have poured out from Japan where V. parahaemolyticus has been rampant and [1] emphasized that 70% of the cases of bacterial gastroenteritis/food poisoning are caused by V. parahaemolyticus invariably communicated by sea-fish and fish-products.
