Abstract

Various immunodiagnostic procedures like indirect haemagglutination, immunofluorescence and scolex precipitation have been used in hydatid disease with variable sensitivity and specificity [1–3]. More recently inert substances like latex and bentonite particles have also been employed for serodiagnosis in Trichinosis amoebiasis and hydatid infection [4–6]. These tests have the advantage that they are quite simple to perform and are not time consuming.
