Abstract
The insecticide DDT(2,2,bis-[p-Chlorophenyl]-l,l,l-trichloroethane)ranksin the top bracket of important developments that have occurred in the control of communicable diseases. This can be appreciated by the fact that approximately 30 diseases, some of them the most important in the world, can be directly controlled, either partially or completely, by the use of DDT. These diseases are as follows:
