Abstract
It is my pleasure and privilege to provide the concluding paper of this meeting. I do not intend to give a detailed account of the factual material presented by the various authors since the authors are more capable of this than I am and the reader will have the relevant material in the preceding pages. Instead I should like to give a personal view concerning some of the features and generalizations that have come from this meeting. Another person would come to different conclusions and this, in a way, is a point in favour of this type of symposium where experts in different but associated subjects can come and talk to each other; what may be an old idea to one person can be a valuable new idea to another and it is this symbiosis of persons and ideas that has made a success of the symposium.
