Zusammenfassung
Auf den Zusammenhang zwischen Motivation und psychologischem Stress ist bereits in den Arbeiten von Lazarus und Baker (1956, 1957) hingewiesen worden. Die Autoren nehmen als wesentliche Determinante für psychologischen Stress eine Motivdurchkreuzung an. Von der jeweiligen Motivationsstruktur eines Individuums hängt es demzufolge ab, ob eine Situation stressinduzierend wirkt oder nicht. Nur wenn die Situation einen relevanten Motivzustand bedroht, kann das Individuum in einen Stresszustand kommen, der bei fehlender Motivbedrohung ausbleiben wird.
