Abstract

We consider the parity-violating asymmetry of the total cross-section for the scattering of longitudinally polarized nucleons from unpolarized nucleon targets. We calculate the effect arising from the interference of strong interactions and weak interactions expected from the simplest gauge model, the so-called “standard model”. Results are compared with available experimental data.
