Zusammenfassung

Die behandelnden Ärzte van Goghs in Südfrankreich faßten sich in ihren Eintragungen in das Krankenregister recht kurz.1 Felix Rey, ein junger Internist, der in Arles als Assistenzarzt tätig und zu jener Zeit noch ohne Abschluß war, kümmerte sich um Vincent nach dessen erster Krise. Dr. Peyron, ein ehemaliger Militäraugenarzt, absolvierte eine zweite Laufbahn als Leiter der Anstalt von St. Rémy. Die Urteile der Nachwelt über die beiden Ärzte fallen unterschiedlich aus.
