Zusammenfassung
Der Ursprung des Lebens bleibt zwar weiterhin ein Geheimnis, doch seine Entwicklungsgeschichte ist dank Biologie und Paläontologie recht gut bekannt. Die treibende Kraft dieser Geschichte — das zentrale Element, ohne das wir noch nicht einmal von einer Geschichte sprechen könnten — ist ein bemerkenswertes Phänomen, dem Astronomen im ganzen Universum begegnen. Ich spreche von der Evolution.
Zeit ist die tiefgreifendste und tragischste Hauptbeschäftigung der Menschen.
