Ein in einem Gebiet G definiertes Funktionensystem
heißt in G orthogonal, wenn allgemein \(\int\limits_G {{f_v}(P){f_\mu }(P)dP = 0\;(\mu \ne v)} \) gilt, und orthonormiert, wenn ferner gilt: \(\int\limits_G {{f_v}{{(P)}^2}dP = 1\;(v = 1,2,...)} \).
