Abstract

The status of theoretical efforts to evaluate electromagnetic charge, magnetization and current densities in finite nuclei is briefly surveyed. Selected elastic Coulomb and magnetic electron scattering results, inelastic scattering data, and coincidence experiments are discussed and shown to raise significant questions well beyond the level of existing theory.
