Zusammenfassung
In diesem Vortrag soll auf drei verschiedene Gesichtspunkte kurz eingegangen werden, die den Approximationssatz von Jackson sowie seine Verallgemeinerung, die im wesentlichen auf Timan zurückgeht, betreffen. Es handelt sich I) um die simultane Approximation von differenzierbaren periodischen Funktionen durch trigonometrische Polynome, II) um die Approximation von in [— 1, 1] differenzierbaren Funktionen durch Polynome und III) um die simultane Approximation durch Polynome von in [—1,1] stetigen Funktionen mit der Timanschen Verbesserung an den Intervallenden. Die Untersuchungen, die zum Teil Gegenstand von Diplomarbeiten waren, sind noch nicht ganz abgeschlossen. Bei dem ersten Problem müssen noch numerische Rechnungen ausgewertet und abgesichert werden. Bei dem zweiten Problem wurden erst Teilergebnisse erhalten; weitere Untersuchungen werden zur Zeit durchgeführt.
