Abstract

We have been able to produce animals which are neither male nor female by various experimental means, especially by hybridization of different bisexual forms. These animals are intermediate in all characteristics that differentiate the two sexes and are therefore called intersexes. Their structure is complex, some resemble females, while others resemble males more closely, thus we refer to female-like and male-like intersexes. Both types may show a limited capacity for reproduction. In addition, we find intermediate intersexes with highly abnormal reproductive organs and unable to reproduce.
