Abstract
Many phenoxyacetic acids show interesting hypocholesterolaemic and anti-lipolytic activity. So reported Thorp [1] 74% of the 116 investigated phenoxyacetic acids to be active. Hundreds of analogues have since been synthesised and some have successfully entered medical practice.
