Abstract

The history of studies of the correlation between the chemical composition of compounds, their structure, physico-chemical properties on the one hand and biological, in particular toxic, action on the other is more than one hundred years old. Prominent scientists of the last and the present centuries took part in the development of this field of science and now considerable experimental material and some theoretical conceptions are available.
