Die Titel sind fortlaufend numeriert, so daß die Bibliographie durch Deskriptoren (s.S. 168) und die Literaturverweise zu den einzelnen Spielen (s.S. 58–125) erschlossen werden kann. Der Report macht im ersten Teil (25 Seiten) in zum Teil sehr knapper Form Angaben über die Verbreitung, Entwicklung und Anwendung von Planspielen in Frankreich, Deutschland, Groß-Britannien, den Niederlanden und Skandinavien sowie über den Benutzerkreis dieser Spiele. Die im Report gelieferten Spielbeschreibungen sind wegen ihrer Knappheit im allgemeinen jedoch nur von geringem Aussagewert. Im zweiten Teil (3 Seiten) werden mögliche Einsatzbereiche des RBM-Models angesprochen.

Schran, Henning: Das Planspiel im Städtebau, in: Stadtbauwelt 3/1964 Schran beschreibt in diesem Artikel ein offenbar nur einmal gespieltes Demonstrationsplanspiel. Das Planspiel wurde 1964 während eines vom Salzburg Seminar in American Studies veranstalteten Städtebaukollegs vom Leiter der Gruppe Ökologie der Stadt, Professor R.C. Wood durchgeführt. Das Ziel des Spiels lag darin, zu untersuchen, welchen Einflußnahmen durch Interessengruppen das Projekt möglicherweise ausgesetzt sein könnte, und wie diese Beeinflussungen u.U. verhindert werden können. Gegenstand des Spiels war die Durchführung eines Sanierungsprogrammes in “Buchanan’s Folly Neighborhood in Woodville/Homeland”. Verwendet wurden hierzu Daten eines innerstädtischen Sanierungsobjektes in Glasgow/Schottland. Um Komplikationen zu vermeiden, wurde dem Gebiet der obige Phantasiename gegeben. Sie kommen dabei zu folgenden Ergebnissen: Effizienz und Validität des Planspiels für einzelne Anwendungsmöglichkeiten im Bereich kommunaler Planung sind bisher nicht erwiesen bzw. überprüft. Die Ursachen sehen sie in unzureichender Publikationstätigkeit der Forscher, dem Fehlen systematischer Grundlagenarbeit und theoretischer Ableitungen. Folge: stagnierender Entwicklungsstand der Arbeit mit kommunalen Planspielen. Die Autoren empfehlen deshalb eine Intensivierung und Ausweitung der Kommunikation, die Veröffentlichungen der bisher gewonnenen Erfahrungen und die systematische Entwicklung und Analyse der theoretischen Grundlagen und Grundbedingungen des kommunalen Planspiel-Ansatzes.
