Abstract
The total cross sections of the charge exchange of uranium ions with different charges versus energy have been calculated and losses of these ions at the two stages of the heavy ion accelerator complex and requirement to vacuum have been determined.
The possibility of controlling the charge spectrum of uranium ions with energies of a few hundreds MeV/nucleon by changing the stripper material has been demonstrated.
