Part of the book series: Experientia Supplementum ((EXS,volume 40))

Abstract

The techniques and components required for injection of protons into cyclic accelerators by means of H charge exchange processes are reviewed, with emphasis on the experience at Fermilab. The advantages of the technique are described. The design and performance of the system of injection of H ions into the Fermilab Booster are detailed.
