Abstract
The use of the source KRION at the Synchrophasotron allowed accelerated beams of nuclei to be obtained up to neon with an energy of 4 G-eV/nuclcon. The short and slow extractions of accelerated nuclei were realised in one cycle of acceleration. This enabled one to perform a broad program of research on relativistic nuclear physics. The \(He_3^{2 + } \), \(He_3^{1 + } \) beams with an energy of up to 4 GeV/nucleon were formed. The beams of nuclei with an energy of several hundred MeV per nucleon were used for medico-biological studies. The nearest prospects of development of the Synchrophasotron are considered: extension of a set of accelerated nuclei, rise of their intensity and increase of the number of experiments performed simultaneously.
