Abstract
Using a polarized neutron beam arrangement 10) the analyzing power of elastic neutron-proton- and neutron-deuteron scattering was determined. Neutrons with energy En =14.5 MeV and polarization Q=(42.9 − 1.0)% from the reaction 2H (d,n) 3He were scattered by a C6H6- or C6D6-scintillator respectively. By use of a spin precessing magnetic field the asymmetry of the scattering was measured for five different angles simultaneousely. In this experiment the energies of the incoming and scattered neutrons (both determined by time-of-flight techniques) and the energy of the recoil particle was detected in coincidence. Fig.l shows our experimental data of the n-p-analyzing power together with some recent results from other laboratories.
