Abstract

When the Organizing Committee of this Symposium asked me to summarize the conference, I was reluctant to accept the invitation, because I have not been active in the field since I helped to prepare the Proceedings of the last Symposium. I was told that this was an asset because I could take a more detached view of the progress made in the interim.
