Abstract
The aim of this note is to describe Christoffel’s approach to the so-called “absolute differential calculus” (called tensor analysis since the days of Einstein), in particular, his contributions towards the discovery of the concepts of covariant differentiation and the Riemann-Christoffel curvature tensor.
