Abstract
This paper presents a convergente splitting-method for the numerical solution of semi-linear initial-value problems. The finite-difference method is absolutely stable, so that especially for large time-intervals the solution of the initial-value problem can be approximated quickly. The method is applied to an integro-differential equation of the mathematical physics and the numerical results are compared with the results of a usual explicite finite-difference method.
