Abstract
The punching of slabs subjected to concentrated forces is one of the governing problems in the design of reinforced and prestressed concrete flat slabs. Although numerous semi-empirical design rules exist none of these formulas shows explicitly the interaction between shear and flexure nor the influence of the displacements on the strength.
