Abstract

The enormous advances in technology during the years since World War 2 have not left agriculture untouched, as we well know. The increasing mechanisation of agricultural production in all its branches is partly the result of the economic necessity for rationalisation, but it also corresponds to our general way of thinking in the field of econimics, according to which things must be produced in ever greater quantities, ever more cheaply and ever more quickly.
