Abstract

The motivation for the methods presented in this section can be described by the following simple example of a real function of one real variable \(f:\mathbb{R} \, \rightarrow \,\mathbb{R}\) We would like to find conditions on f which guarantee that for any \( y \in\mathbb{R}\) the equation f(x) = y has a (unique) solution x.
