Abstract

Companies are in a constant search for continuous improvement of their processes to achieve better performance. At the same time, the adoption of new technologies in conjunction with Lean tools is a topic that has increased in recent years. However, knowing the combinations that are potentially beneficial for performance is not enough for a successful implementation. There are internal and external elements that can affect the conjoint implementation of Lean tools and Industry 4.0 technologies. These aspects are defined as enablers. This article is focused on the study of enablers for the implementation of Lean tools and Industry 4.0 technologies. The results of a survey is provided in order to rank the importance of these enablers according to the experience of industrials on Lean and Industry 4.0 implementation.
