Abstract
With the value assessment framework developed, it can be instructive to consider real-world examples to see how we can apply the framework to various situations. Here, we explore the value of several real situations or programs, including a CMS value-based reimbursement program, a medical device intended to improve medication adherence, and the entire field of primary care. For each, we will identify and define the components of the value framework and describe how we would use the framework to evaluate the defined value. Also, this chapter will cover practical suggestions for how to develop and carry out value assessments and will present a handful of templates. We close with some thoughts on incorporating the human element into value assessments.
