Abstract
Ilona Kickbusch is a German political scientist who has worked with the World Health Organization where she led the Global Health Promotion Programme and initiated the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion and a range of projects including Healthy Cities and Women’s Health Counts. Previously, she is the founding Director and chair of the advisory group of the Global Health Centre at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and led Yale University’s Global Health Program. She is a member of WHO’s Independent High-Level Commission on Non-Communicable Diseases and is the co-chair of the Universal Health Coverage 2030 Steering Committee, Council Chair for the World Health Summit, and a member of the Global Preparedness and Monitoring Board.
