Pediatric Surgery

Abstract

The goal of minimal access surgery is to perform operations through very small incisions with equal or superior clinical outcomes and less impact on the body and organs. Minimal access surgery started in the early 1990s, and in the past 3 decades, it is the established approach for surgical management of multiple pathologies as outlined in this chapter. This chapter outlines the areas of implementation and technical considerations for pathologies in the pediatric age group. It also outlines the thoracic and abdominal pathologies and the minimal access approach.
