Abstract
As in any other kind of research, design science researchers need to address ethical issues. These relate not only to the work carried out in a research project, but also to the possible ethical and societal consequences that can follow from the use of a created artefact. This chapter starts by introducing a number of general principles for research ethics and then goes on to discuss ethical issues related to the information society. We conclude with a set of ethical principles for design science research.
